ABOUT US

My daughter's love of chickens brought me back into the chicken world after many years.   We raise a small number of birds because we thoroughly enjoy them.

These are not hatchery birds nor did they originate from large hatchery stock.  Animal well being is top priority for us.  We do not overcrowd and feed a high quality pellet diet combined with fermented whole grains.  Their diet is supplemented with fodder, fruits, vegetables, and mealworms.  When weather permits, the birds are allowed to free range.

Our goal is to raise healthy, family friendly chickens that do well in a backyard flock.  The breeds are specifically chosen for their temperament.

Ask about our hatching eggs and chicks. Started pullets available occasionally

BIELEFELDER

Hatching eggs:   $4.00 each or $35.00 per dozen
Female chicks:  $15.00
Male chicks:        $2.00

Relatively new to the United States, the Bielefelder is a large, beautiful dual purpose breed.  Along with their friendly personality, they are very good layers of large to extra large brown eggs.  Males are large and make a good roaster or soup bird.  Their autosexing characteristic makes it easy to separate the extra males at hatch to begin them on a higher protein feed for quicker weight gain.  A good addition to a backyard flock!  Contact for availability.

LAVENDER ORPINGTON

Hatching eggs:  $3.00 or $30.00 per dozen
Chicks:  Straight run only  $9.00

Who doesn't love the docile nature of the Orpington! Our Lavender Orpingtons are beautiful, fluffy, friendly birds with a stunning color.  Another good dual purpose breed.  They are good layers of medium sized brown eggs.  Males make a good roaster or soup chicken.  If you have children, Orpingtons are a must!

BLACK (SPLIT LAVENDER) ORPINGTON

Hatching eggs:  $3.00 each or $30.00 per dozen
Chicks:  Straight run only  $9.00

Another beautiful bird that does great in a backyard flock.  As with all Orpingtons, they are good layers, friendly, and males make a good soup or roaster bird.

Our Black Orpingtons are used to breed back to the Lavender Orpingtons to improve feather quality.  These will carry the Lavender gene.

LIGHT SUSSEX

Hatching eggs:  $3.00 each or 30.00 per dozen
Chicks:  Straight run only $9.00

Our Light Sussex chickens are not only stunning but are our most social chickens.  A wonderful addition to a backyard flock.  A great dual purpose chicken as they are good layers of brown eggs and grow quickly.

GOLD LACED POLISH

Hatching eggs:  $3.00 each or $30.00 per dozen
Chicks:  Straight run only  $9.00

How can you not smile when you look at a Polish chicken?  Strangely cute and friendly!  My daughter's favorite!

Polish are a docile chicken that lays small white eggs.  Our Polish lay well (4-5 eggs a week) during the warmer months but do typically cease laying throughout the colder months.
